Cross Country Rider Summary: Your standard run-of-the-mill cardio ride. Very scenic and very rewarding, however not very technically challenging. However, the section called Dogmeat, which is the first trail to your right as you ride up Kennedy Trail, is rather challenging, if only for the high-speed descent and off-camber turns.
Rangers generally don't patrol this area, so feel free to go past the 15MPH posted speed limit.
The Limekiln and Priest Rock Trails are always empty, which is a nice respite from the crowded St. Joseph's OSP, where spandex-clad female walkers decide that walking side-by-side, four abreast across a trail is a nice way to share the trail. To make matters worse, there is usually four rangers behind every tree wielding radar guns and issuing $190 citations for speeding while horses walk by and drop immense quantities of dung without having to pickup after themeselves--yet dogs can't so much as look into most open space preserves let alone go in them. However, equestrians are generally wealthy people and money buys representation on the boards of most of these open space organizations.
Recommended Route: Stay on Hwy. 17 and go directly to Santa Cruz, and ride there instead.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I only rode 6 miles after work the place was empty not a person in site except an Mtn. Lion. Fire rode but the start is downhill to a creek and then you can climb forever. The views are excellent and you are in sun/shade the whole way. Alot of trees and vegitation. Recommended Route: Woods Trail... Other recommended trails in the same area: Quicksilver, Pacheco Park ( HWY 152 )
