Taranchula trail

The trail starts out with a narrow downhill leading to the bottom of a a mini valley. IF you keep going straight you''ll go over a series of up down hills and chicanes. If you''re lucky and didnt get caught out on a dumbass log some motherfucker left you will arrive at a lake. Jump the root and the landing will be muddy and soft and unless you have farelly new mud tires prepare to get muddy and dirty. The trail gets more fun as you get to ford more streams and mud pits. The trail is only about 1/2 a foot wide and usually very muddy so momentum is key to getting through. One you get the this log thats smack dab in the middle of the trail, go another 5 feet make a left and take that trail up onto the bigass hill. Once you get to the top dont fanny about and bitch about how good the view ism just keep going up the next 2 big ass hills. Then you''ll see a big burnt hill (like a burnt black titty) go to the top of that. Once your there rest, eat, drink, piss, shit, bitch and pray. Go downhill parallel to the path you took up and that should take you back to the lake. During the summer the trail is dry sandy and smelly. During winter the trail is wet muddy and smells even worst. ONE LAST THING THERE ARE BULLS AND COWS UP THERE ONCE YOU GET TO THE TOP SO BE WARNED.
from vintage hills go up concord towards hearst, take a right onto hearts then go down hearst all the way until to get to Remillard Ct. Then left onto Remillard, get on the sidewalk and go towards the wooden fence and follow the path that leads into the bush and follow that.
AND IF YOU CANT FIND IT, TOUGH!!
Summary: a nice little short singletrack that is in south p-town. we (team poots) named this trail "tarantula" about 13+ years ago in high school. it kills me that the name stuck. the trail is only about 1/4 mile long before reaching a barbed-wire cow fence. the trail continues under the fence and splits above the cow pond. ride beyond the fence at your own risk...but you will rarely run into another person. mostly just cows, fox's, and turkey vultures.
this trail is great for p-towners, as it is within riding distance to most of south pleasanton. short and sweet, i use this trail as my "proving ground" to fine tune the bikes and test new equiptment.
Recommended Route: take hearst drive past 3-way intersection, stairway on your right leads down to the trail.
Other recommended trails in the same area: g-3 kicks ass old school style, singletrack at the top of augustin-bernal, singletrack midway at pleasanton ridge, dj park adjacent to shadow cliff's.

Summary: this trail is really fun if you like to ride single-tracks. the biggest bonus is that you dont have people yelling at you for riding there. one thing you really want to bring is a water bottle with a hole in it. the sport top kind. you want to bring this because the mud gets caught in you're parts and screwes them up.
Recommended Route: uhhh, theres only one trail.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Pleasanton Ridge
