summit trail

Most of it is fire trail but great views and hard to reach the summit. I say intermediate because you have to be in great shape to reach the top without stopping or else any one can ride it with a few stops.

Summary:
The main fire road goes up past the lake through nice lush redwoods, ferns etc...It's a steep ascent but the scenery keeps your mind off it. There is a new singletrack that branches off about two miles up, that is just great, it steadily winds up the mountain revealing some great views and places to enjoy the quiet of nature. It's grueling going up and fast and fun going down

Recommended Route:
Park off to the right of the entrance gate (parking fee is $3). Follow the fire road to the Jack London sites, past the vineyard and up and up......

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Annadel state park
