, from Oakland Summary: Steep Climb from the Fire Road Gate just past Quarry Area. This is a long steady climb with loose soil and rocks which makes sure you site your ass down and not get up or loose some serious energy. When u reach the top there is a picnic table with great panoramic views of the bay (I think there used to be a canon here during wwII). The rest of the ride is all down down from here. I take a left on the first fork in the trail and go up to Vollmer Peak then cut over to South Park Drive and back on to the trail to Quarry Picnic Area.
Recommended Route: ho ho...many of you are going from the picnic area..pffffft! Thats the easy way. Try going up the road just a few feet past the Quarry Picnic Area and there is a gate on the right side before Inspiration Point. Take this route up the trail. This side is hella tougher than the Quarry Area approach. Other recommended trails in the same area: East Ridge Redwood Park

, from berkeley Summary: This trail is pretty lame except for one good downhill. The only reason that I take it is to get to the best DH in the east bay, Sideoak. This is all fire roads, and there's a jump, and there is also a lot of climbing. Recommended Route: take a left at the first fork for a little climbing but a nice dh, or go right for fast fire roads. Other recommended trails in the same area: sideoak, joaquin miller

, from Sicily, Italy Summary: Its really fun at times. I am god. God am I. Am I god? I god am. Have you seen your monkey lately? I have. Come to monkey quest dot com for more information about finding your inner wet monkey. Bust a cap foo. Recommended Route: Backwards on one wheel, I recommend body armor, because you can take some serious spills. Especially when hitting the jumps. Other recommended trails in the same area: Shattuck ave.
