Calabazas Park jumps
28 reviews

Lots of jumps. That is it. No trails. A lot of jumps built for and by bmxers. Go during a weekday before school gets out. Good place for people who race dual slalom and downhill to get in some serious jumping. Most of the jumps are more in the extreme games type.

Summary:
I was talking to my friend (who works with the city of San Jose in the parks and rec dept) he informed me that he just got the clabasas project handed to him today( sep 8 2005). He says they are going to go look at the jumps currently set up in the sj arena for this bike show in town (talk to the builders get tips, talk to safety guys etc....) then they are going to go survey the calabasas site. The city lawyers are looking into jump heights and what can be done to improve safety. Sounds like calabasas will rise again!

Summary:
Its fenced off...i hear someguy broke his neck there and they shut it down I also hear the neighbors say the land isnt beeing used like they would like it to be used...previously the city had demolished it and denied doing it. Like a bulldoser would just rollup to the park for fun? I think the new city officals just dont want it there even given all its history.

Recommended Route:
cut the fence down and ride if you dare...

Other recommended trails in the same area:
prospect's 'hidden valley' but they fenced that too :(

Summary:
I'm tired of all this smackin on Cali. That place is an awesome place to learn how to dirt jump for any kind of biker! And to the guy who said the ten pack is lame, try doing something of it numbnuts, then tell me it's hard. It is true that there are a lot of stupiud little kids there a lot that crowd up the jumps w/o even really doing them. last tie I was there I was jumping a big double and a kid was on the landing and i ate SH*T and broke both my shifters and got hella bad bruises. It's fun to go chill there though.

Recommended Route:
Take 85 to DeAnza, then turn right on Rainbow Lane, then the park will be on your left about a 1/2 mile up.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Saratoga Gap
