Weekend Warrior Summary: Big Tree like some other single track trails in JM is CLOSED to mountain bikers after the first rain until the last one, that is pretty much from November to April. I am biking or hiking in JM 3 times a week on LEGAL trails and I see more and more downhillers showing no respect for that beautiful park. I also witnessed great damage done to that trail by bikers who don't know how to brake without skidding, over a period of 3 years. Stay away from that trail if you cannot respect it. Recommended Route: the highway if you do not agree on my review Other recommended trails in the same area: absolutley none to downhillers

, from Berkeley Summary: Short and Sweet. Probably a mile or a little more, but good technical uphill and downhill. I'm not too sure if it's legal. Recommended Route: Ride to end of Seqouia Bayview trail. It's there. Other recommended trails in the same area: Sequoia, Chaparral(Watch for cops), cinderella trail

, from Aalmeda,Ca Summary: Very ruff and rocky with steep drops. It was wet in spots making it even more challenging. I would say this is a advanced trail. Was very fun to ride down from Roberts park, was extremely hard to ride back. I had dismount on a couple hills (wet rock, and very steep). The jump near the start is very fun. Recommended Route: Above directions are good, I parked at Roberts park and rode across the street to Big trees Other recommended trails in the same area: Graham trail, dunn trail

, from Oakland, CA Summary: The previous reviewer is full-o-crap. Joaquin Miller Park's traila are pretty much ALL open to bikes, save for a few portions (the lower Palos Colorados and a few others - check the signs) Also, Big Trees is CLOSED during the "Rainy Season" (November - April). Anyway, it's a nice, pseudo-challenging singletrack that traverses some shady, wooded groves of redwoods with a final rocky jump at the end. Trynot to scare the dog-people away, and ring your damn bell! Recommended Route: Start down by Sequoia Bayview next to Skyline Drive. End at same. Other recommended trails in the same area: Side-O
