Summary:
For high speed go to the west at the Trinity County line. More horses near the lake.

Recommended Route:
The book is now out of print! Find a copy soon, as supplies are limited.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Bully Choop Lookout is about as good as it gets.

Summary:
Some of these have been review here already. Instead of reviewing one, I recommend getting the book and going from there. Whiskeytown Lake offers plenty of wonderful mtn biking experiences as well as beautiful scenery. If you live out of town, plan to spend at least a few days to ride several of the trails. They vary in length from 8-20 miles and you can combine several of them for a longer loop. There is lots of good climbing for those who enjoy a workout and plenty of single-track for the adrenalin junkies. Definitely a must. Please stay on and take care of the trails so we can keep riding them. Also, check with the visitor center during the winter to check which trails are open. Sometimes there may be some closed due to tree fall from heavy snow.

Recommended Route:
Whiskeytown Lake is about 10 miles west of Redding. There are several good trails in the Whiskeytown mtn bike trail book to check out. My favorites are Recliner, Chimney and Ice Box, Boulder Creek, the Couch, the Big Kahuna, Kanaka Peak, South Fork, as well as several others.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Lake Shasta also has some good trails.
