Perris Lake

The trail in acually a the horse trail around the lake. It starts at the horse camp with easy rolling hills you can take the tail to the left to go into the hill for an intermediate ride. the good thing about this ride is all trails lead back to the start. There is a turn around point half way out with a different return route. Great ride in the spring or early summer. Good cardio ride and some hills if you want them.

Summary:
If you go on a Wednesday night a group meets there (5:30pm). Mostly very fit, old-crusty guys that like to talk a lot of "smack". There are however a handfull of talented racers that frequent the ride on occasion (Fast Eddie) if you're up for a challenge.

It's a fun group, fun ride. The sandy trail can be rutted after rains. Small climbs and decents keep ya on your toes. The ride stops about a dozen times to allow stragglers to catch up. It's a no-rider-left-behind type of ride and lasts about 2 hours.

Maybe I'll see ya there sometime.

Recommended Route:
Sail Cove & follow the Wednesday Eve. Group. - 5:30pm

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Angelus Oaks, Crafton Hills, Pisgah

If you like sand, snakes, and old men, then this is your trail.

Recommended Route:
Sail cove to park entrance, up fireroad hill, down singletrack, on fireroad for many miles, up another hill, down some hill, around swingsets, through weeds on skinny trail, stop at table, eat a gel, follow the bike path back to car. Got it?
