Summary:
A friend and I rode this trail yesterday (July 4th 2009). What a Ride! The trail was in good condition but as others have written is a very technical and rocky trail. We started at Upper Rock Creek (South Fork) and rode the road down to Toms Place and out Lake Crawley Rd. The Road ends and you have to forge your own path down to a single track that leads to the trail head for Lower Rock creek. It was worth it. We both grinned the whole time. My friend said it perfect, " Normally you do something awesome and you know it will end too early, I kept wondering when this trail ended." We saw a family on the trail and both thought they probably had a terrible day especially on the lower technical sections. There are plenty of places to spill.....bring some bike skills and common sense.

Recommended Route:
For a good 5k ft descent- Start at Rock Creek Lake and ride the rode all the way down to Lake Crawley Rd amd turn right. Follow the road to the end and head east through the brush towards 395 (between the two small hills). Follow trail head from upper parking lot and use caution if its the first time.

Summary:
The trail is in great shape. Brush work has been done and it has opened up the trail. Making the fun factor even higher. Remember to be nice to the hikers and fishermen. Watch out for the big rock at the end of the second section, it made me get wet in the creek.

Summary:
Have heard about this single track trail for a couple of years, but never had the time until recently. On August 15th about 12:30pm my friend, Paul, and I dropped his car at the Paradise Restaurant and drove my car to the top of the trail. Probably should have started earlier in the morning this time of year as the temp at the bottom was over 97! Take lots of water! The first two sections, as others have written, is fast, and in good condition, however you get surprised occasionally with blind hard lefts and rights....if you are carrying too much speed you will leave the trail. Some spots have high consequence results if you leave the trail. I recommend riding the first two sections cautiousely the first time until you know the blind spots, then go for it.

The last section, about 3 miles long, is very technical in spots, and until you become familiar with the 5-6 most technical spots you will end up walking, or carrying your bike over, or thru those spots. There are a number of sections where you are riding on what looks like crushed rock for a 100 yards, or so. All but one or two are rideable once you know what to expect. I understand that some expert riders have cleared all the technical areas, and I say bravo to them.

This is a great ride, and I recommend it. Takes about an hour from top to bottom with a couple of stops to say "WOW!". Will do it again in the near future, perhaps in the fall when it's cooler.

Summary:
This trail is awesome! It is very quick moving. The scenery is great. 50 feet where you have to walk up rock stairs. Watch out for the technical section if you are not ready for it, it will bite you in the rear. I went right over the handles bars trying to huck a section. Be careful in this area by the crik you can just fly right into it if you are not payin attention. I did it was fun anyways.

Recommended Route:
same as others
