Racer Summary: Shoot the last review was in 2004, this is a great set of trails, perfect for Singlspeeding I ride here multiple time per week 99% of the time singlspeeding. Great for newbies certain sections but also for experienced riders. You have downhills, singletrack and great climbing.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I rode here for the first time today. I parked at #2 (on Central) and rode along the east boundry toward the south end of the park all the way to the gas station. I was out by my self so I don't know any of the trails by name. I fond a nice trail on my way back that was rolling in the bottom of a canyon. It had some rock drops from a few inches to one that is 5 or 6 feet. As I started to head back toward the trail I came in on I came to a stream crossing with a big gas pipe across it. I figured I better leave that one for a day when I have someone there to haul me out. At the end of my ride I came out a little west of the parking area and dropped into some appartments or condos. I found my way through there and hit Central back to the parking area. In all a good afterwork or short day ride. My loop was about 10 miles total. It's a good place for XC or freeriding but it didn't look like a good place to shuttle for downhill runs. Recommended Route: I liked starting from Central so the majority of the first half of your ride is uphill. That leaves more downhill for on the way back. Other recommended trails in the same area: Box Springs "M" trail

Weekend Warrior Summary: Great single track trails. Even after all the rain that we have had in SoCal the trails ride well. Great place to learn and ride. I will again ride at Sycamore Canyon. Recommended Route: Any Other recommended trails in the same area: Just moved to SoCal.

Weekend Warrior Summary: This trail has a lot to offer and is continuing to be improved with new lines and manmade stunts. I started riding this trail in 2002 and thought that “Little Moab” was very difficult (to get to “Little Moab” start at corner of Allesandro and the 215 and go behind the service station then behind the new Mini Storage. The start of the “Little Moab” trail is close to the North East corner of the Mini Storage). Now “Little Moab” is a lot easier for me and I have moved on to the stunts along Allesandro. Also, you can find a lot of good hidden lines above Little Moab. However, Sycamore Canyon is all about Cross Country ridding. It is not a destination trail, but it is a great place to ride after work. Recommended Route: I like to start at the Allesandro / 215 corner and ride in through little Moab then take a left after the creek (in the natural rock drainage). At the fire road, take a left and re-cross the creek and turn right about 25 yards from the creek then again left about 15 yards in and follow the single track to the top of the ridge then follow right. Keep following the trail out towards Canyon Crest for then follow down Canyon Crest for the longest and best downhill in the park (Smooth, easy, but FUN). At the bottom, follow the road and turn right at the light then back into the park and around to Little Moab. Other recommended trails in the same area: SART, M-Trail

Weekend Warrior Summary: Sycamore Cyn is the center of the MTB world in Riverside. Overall, it's the best place I've been for XC. There are good trails for beginners and good trails for guys like Chris (see below) who do Red Bull Rampage sort of stuff. There are just loads of trails to ride, it's free, and right in the middle of civilization.
I just wish they would stop building on all the trails not officially in the park limits (up by the chevron on alessandro).
If you see a kangaroo rat hopping around, thank him for keeping the whole place from turning into more houses. Recommended Route: To learn all the different trails and combos, try weekend rides with the guys from teamdirtywork.com.
check out the map at: http://www.mybikesite.com/socal/trails/sycamor.htm#map
Highlights include:
- the long grind up Far Side (start at Central Ave SE uphill to overlook)
- flood control (from overlook due south)
- the drop through the stinging nettles (continued south) to great single track
- the arroyo trail and the little wooden bridge crossing (watch your head)
- X-trail singletrack along the top of the park (start heading west/NW)
- cutoff to the rock section known as "mini-moab" (half way to water treatment plant on X-Trail, turn north/NW)
- after surviving mini-moab, continue on the fire road west up the hills and down the hills, and back up the hills until you're along Canyon Crest Dr.
- Head due north down RRR, one of the most fun XC singletracks around.
RRR ends at a neighborhood. take canyon crest drive and central back to the start.
If you do the loop backwards you can add Terry's wall after riding up RRR. Other recommended trails in the same area: Any where the uphill is easier than the downhill.
