Cross Country Rider Summary: Excellent all rider level trail for a weekday or quick weekend ride. This one has it all - sheer cliffs, cows, lake, optional steep climbs, creek crossings, and technical singletrack.
I have NO idea why they have not installed a guard rail along the famous walk-or-die section in the first 100 feet of the trail. Plenty of people have died there. What in the world are they waiting for? Recommended Route: Park before the bridge. Just over the bridge, take a left into the small parking lot where you'll find the trail head at the end.

Downhiller Summary: Wow, I've checked mtbr trail review on ocassion for the last 3-4 years and I can't believe no one has figured out the secret spot(semi steep & fun). I guess the old school disney lovers are the only ones who will ever know, cuz I'll never tell. Hint... wanta-be gay bay-trans-plants... think outside the doll...It's sort of steep but no road side assistance for the soccer dad. Keep hyping up the DARRINGTON trail as you know it (flat), which is hardly at all. haa haaa....

Cross Country Rider Summary: Salmon Falls is a great ride, pretty technical ride but overall a fun singletrack without a lot of vertical. All of the climbs are short and only a few are walkers. I take my 11 yr old son out there and we had a blast once we got past the first mile where it looks like you might fall into the lake. If you want a longer ride start at the sweetwater trail about 3mi before the Salmon falls bridge and ride both trails for a 22mi round trip of fun singletrack.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Salmon Falls Trail (Darrington Trail) was a trail that a few of my buddies and I decided to tackle as my first trail. I just got into mountain biking, and a few of the other guys were more advanced, but I said I'd go along anyway. We went Thursday 6/9/2005, just after the rain the day prior. Parked at Salmon Falls Bridge, the day was cool/wet. The first part of the trail was technical, due to the rocks and nasty mud everywhere - later on, the trail eased up, but was still hazardous because of flooding, terrain shifts, etc. About 10 miles in, we saw a fork in the road (3-way, one to the end of the trail, one to camp penninsula, one to another trail). However, the sign showing which way to go was broken and on the ground, needless to say we got disoriented but managed to complete the ride.
Overall a good trail, difficulty was not bad for a beginner like me in good shape, may be more of a challenge if you aren't used to clipless pedals (me, fell 7 times), or if you arent used to close singletrack. Overall a good ride. Recommended Route: The route ends at about 10 miles. You have to go back to complete it ~20 miles. Camp Pennisula is a dead end, you have to take service roads to get out of there. Other recommended trails in the same area: First one, so look for more.
