From Sacto take I-80 east to Auburn. Exit at Foresthill then immediate right onto Lincoln. Left onto Russell Rd then head down Russell to the trail head on the left (big dirt parking lot).

Summary:
As you can see there is some climbing to be done so bring your good legs. This ride provides some great views and a few really rocky/technical areas. There's also a really cool and spooky tunnel to ride through that plunges you into almost complete darkness. If you like you could start this ride off Old Forest Hill Rd bypass the climb back up to Russell Rd where I parked.. The parking down there is limited, though, and today it was packed...on a Tuesday! Either way, this is a must ride in a very scenic area.
