Ridden Trail: Every few months

Racer Summary: This is where TBF Racing runs several MTB race series and Duathlons throughout the year. It's a fast network with a little bit of everything..single track, semi-tech obstacles, fast s-turns to pump, switchbacks galore and then spots of open for all out sprinting. A few sand pits and a couple of valley crossings that will accumulate water and turn into mud bogs .
For a slow leisure ride, it's pretty easy. If your going all out on race day and popping for 18+ miles of multi-loops it becomes a challenge, with repercussions for not paying attention.
Even in torrential rain, the dg trails drain off, but the grit just chows your drivetrain. Recommended Route: Whatever the race director plotted, never done anything but that.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Good single track, a little something for every one, no major steep climbs, a nice rolling hills type trail with a few tech sections thats are not bad at all, bottom line its a fun fast 12 miles that I enjoyed a lot. I get tired of going to a new trail and climbing the entire time that sucks!!, if you need that much of and arobic work out try to peddle harder and faster or go to the gym and take a step class with a bunch of FAT chicks. This trail you climb a little and strole down the rest, at no time in the ride did I burn out from climbing, thats what makes this trail so refreshing compared to the others I have ridden in the area. Recommended Route: Got lost so cant recommend a specific route

Weekend Warrior Summary: Favorite trail. It's great for a really fun/little of everything/quick work out that's not too far out of Sacramento. It has some good climbs, is mostly single track, has rocks, sand and smooth s-turns never too far from water to take a dip. Recommended Route: From the granite bay day use parking lot, the trail head is on the east side, follow that out across the open area, cross the paved road and take the 2nd right. (1st is the exit). just follow that up and through the woods. there's few forks and splits...after riding the trail a few times you'll figure out which route takes you where. work your way out to the end of the peninsula and back. there's lots of variety and is a blast. When you get done if you sill have energy, try it backwards. -watch out for horses- Other recommended trails in the same area: Salmon falls
Sly park (up the hill a ways)
Forest hill (also up the other hill a ways)

Weekend Warrior Summary: Enjoyed trail but was mislead by rating. Some fun, technical stuff but not very aerobic. Take the time to drive 20 miles up Auburn Folson to hit Foresthill Divide. Much greater challenge, Recommended Route: Backside of Cavitt JH. Other recommended trails in the same area: Foresthill Divide

Cross Country Rider Summary: Good trail for beginners- the hills are short but there is a alot of single track. There are a few alternate trails that add spice for more experienced riders. The trail is ideal for a single speed. Recommended Route: Start at the high school - it adds a a couple of miles to the ride.
