, from SF Summary: Vertical approx 1300 feet of climbing, no break until you hit the fireroad. The last mile of Goat Mnt trail has several technical sections, rocky, rooty side hills, etc. Climb up is tough unless you're super fit and an advanced rider. The trail is narrow, steep and loose, has rocks and or 4 in log water bars; all making it hard to keep up a pedal pace. I did this ride solo early on Sunday morning, I only met up with two hikers on one other biker. I walked all the technical sections due to fatigue and not willing to become buzzard feed. Ride back down is alot of fun. Goat Mnt winds through the forrest and is fast for the last 2.5 miles. Note to SFBay area riders - if you love to ride at Skeggs (El Corte Maders OSP) this ride is for you. If you're an EBRPD or Marin Headlands rider it will be more technical than usual. Recommended Route: Park car at Forks General Store, ride south on rt 222 along lake to Spring Cove trail head. Ride up Spring Cove trail to intersection with Goat Mnt. Trail, go left and continue up mountain to fire road. Go left on fire road, stay to the left after green gate and go through manzanita tunnel, continue up and down (a little) and up again on fire-road to the look-out. Return by taking Goat Mnt. trail all the way back down to the Forks Campground.

, from Rickreall, OR Summary: Eh, its a trail. Nothing to write home about but definitely not a waste of time. Nice woods, some ticks, and a good view at the top. Easy ride up and nice coast down. No real challenges and thats fine, just turn off the brain and flow. Good place to take the girly for a ride.
Recommended Route: Up then down.

, from Patterson Summary: From the forks take the paved road until the stop sign and hang a right. A few miles up you'll see the fire road that leads to the top of the fire lookout. Ride all the way up to the fork.... hang a right toward the lookout or head left to the singletrack. Left toward singletrack you'll see a green gate, just pased the gate to the right is the single track. When the single track forks head left. Follow to the forks, climb back up but this time take the single track right to Spring Cove.
Recommended Route: Ride the road to the top and take singletrack down
Other recommended trails in the same area: After you finish the ride at spring cove keep going around the lake, cross the dam, and do 007. After that jump off the cliff near the dam and cool off.
