Weekend Warrior Summary: East on Foresthill Road past lower Clementine access untill you see trailhead parking on your right. This puts you at the lowest elevation on the loop. Recommended Route: The trail takes off to the left out of the parking area. Very soon you will come to a tee. At the tee take the right and you will basically climb counterclockwise up through the loop, then mostly downhill back to the tee and then a short downhill section back to the car. The main trail is fairly well marked and you will know if you are on the right track if you see a marker at every mile. Other recommended trails in the same area: I was very disappointed with this trail. It is a frustrating mix of very short "almost fun" downhills with short unsatisfying uphills. This kind of trail keeps you breathless, hot, always in the wrong gear, and never able to settle in. Riding this trail is a good cardio workout (like choice #? on the stationary bike) but I'd rather ride an excercise bike in front of the TV than ride this thing. The rocky root section is nothing and there is no flow to the downhills. There are a few scenic views but mostly you are in the brush. And don't get run over on the pavement crossings. Vehicle traffic is fast and furious.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Loads of fun! My first time riding this trail was worth the trip up to Auburn. The climbs are well rewarded with smooth, fast, picturesque descents. The views out into the river valley are breathtaking. Just rode trail Easter 2009. If you hurry the wildflowers are still in bloom and covering the meadows along the trail. Not too many other riders. I was informed the trail can get quite congested on the weekends, so a mental sanity break from work may be needed to fully enjoy the ride. Recommended Route: Take Forest Hill exit off of I-80.
Head East... cross massive bridge
About 5 miles down road, park in lot, right hand side.
Go through gate.
I went clockwise, some did not... only ran into 8 other riders.
Get dirty.
Smile on drive home. Other recommended trails in the same area: Just moved to area. I have only ridden Granite Bay.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Excellent roller coaster ups and downs on the north side of Forresthill Road and killer climbs on the south side. Not very technical at all, but killer cardio workout for sure, especially when it's hot. Recommended Route: Heading east on Forresthill Rd, turn left onto Lake Clementine Rd, and park in the first gravel parking lot immediately to your right. Trail heads down to the connector for a 3.2 mile roller coaster ride to the loop. CCW highly recommended unless you're Tinker Juarez or Johnny T. Other recommended trails in the same area: Flume Trail - Tahoe
Montabello Ridge - Cupertino

Cross Country Rider Summary: Dope! Sweet! Fast! Beautiful! I love this trail! If this trail was compared to sex then it would be like doing it with a Pornstar. Mostly single track. There are only a few tiny little parts of fire road. It's a good idea to go with someone who has been before because it breaks up a few times. This is the fastest trail in the area. If you ride it ccw, Bomb!, if you ride it cw, a tremendous work out. After you are done drive up the road and take a swim at Upper Like Clementine. It's not very rocky at all but the climbs can get you breathing pretty hard. One half is more sunny and the other is kind of shady. If you ride it ccw then the second half is the shaded part. Be sure not to make a right at the end because this is the connector trail. This is my favorite trail of all time. Recommended Route: From Sac, take the 80E to the Forest Hill exit. Turn right. Go about 5 to 7 miles and youll see a little parking area on the right. The trail head is right there. After ride about a hlaf mile youll come to a sign, to ride ccw go right. Then a phat DH section gets you in the mood real quick. Other recommended trails in the same area: Clementine and Olmstead

Weekend Warrior Summary: Usually ride this trail 1-2 times per week. Nice loop with several good cardio hills. Only one or two technical spots (i.e., the tree roots), but this trail is just about the right for those looking for something physically challenging. Going counter, after the tree roots is "Heartbreak Hill". It will definitely get your cardio going. If you can finish in under 60 minutes, you are part of an elite group. Recommended Route: Most bikers go counter clockwise Other recommended trails in the same area: Clementine connector to Confluence
