From parking lot go down dirt road and take 3rd left, 1st right and, or make your way down to large, level RR grade. Don't follow the power lines. Head East 3-4 miles to Lyons Lake. Drinking water and bathrooms there. Cross Lyons dam and pick up single track on right of heliport. Take doubletrack up and left to intersection of dirt road. Go left or West on dirt road and climb to another intersection. Head right or East and look for singletrack on immediate left. Over mountain and go left at intersection with dirt road. Left or West again on to singletrack at well marked intersection. This is an old RR grade that skirts the top of Deer Creek. There are many trails that drop into Deer Creek and they're all worth while. Fast, fun, technical, extreme downhills. The bitch is you eventually got to climb back out. You can stay on the RR grade for an easy ride. Your best bet is to stop at the ranger station and get a map.
Take HWy 108 East from Hwy 99 towards Sonora. Continue East past Sonora, still on 108, another 20 minutes to town of Sugarpine. Park across the highway from Kellys Kitchen. Small store there, they may have maps..
Summary: I can't believe the hicks in Sonora haven't promoted this area more. Back in The Day I was riding these trails with a fully rigid Bontrager and loved them. The views are awsome and the singletrack just beats you up. One guy I took out there kept begging for the climbs because the downhills were killin him!
Recommended Route: Ask a friend! Send me a request for info and maybe I'll send you a map!
Other recommended trails in the same area: Can't post the really good stuff, that would be too easy!

Summary: Nice ride thru the Stanislaus Forest ranging from fire roads to single track (Advanced). Long climb out of the Stanislaus middle fork at the end.
Recommended Route: Either stop by the local bike shop (JT cycles) or by the Mi-Wok Ranger station and get a OHV map.
Other recommended trails in the same area: pinball, crandell peak, lyons lake.
