Weekend Warrior Summary: Tried this loop twice, first time was a mess, like others said you have to be fit enough to try this trail, first 3.5 miles is a hell of a climb,Just remember my first time there, cramps was everywhere in my legs,it was a punishment!!! Just needed a couple of practice and was fine the last time I was there.Listen,if you are new to mtb riding,I would not recommend this trail or you'll REGRET!!! Other recommended trails in the same area: Forest Hill Divide,Olmstead Loop,Sly Park

Cross Country Rider Summary: Enjoy this trail very much but prefer Foresthill Divide for its beauty. This trail has more diverse terraine and is quite a challenge for all levels. Recommended Route: Park off Russel Road and proceed down Russel a block to a left over small bridge proceed to Manzanita Trail, a half mile connector that contains some fun, technical stretchs. Continue off trail down stage coach, across lower American River Bridge to first left. Proceed up 3.5 mile climb and be prepared for a great downhill. Other recommended trails in the same area: Foresthill Divide, Olmstead, Winchester Loop.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Rode the trail the end of may and it was already getting up to 90 degrees. I didnt' get to do the manzanita/stagecoach trail due to lack of time. (sarting at the confluence) You start out with a 3 mile up hill of fire and paved road until you get to the trail head. Then it's 5 miles of fun single track with some technical sections and jumps with the last couple of miles along the river. Definately rccomend if your in the area and it's not the middle of summer. Aerobic and technical rating would probably go up to a 4 if stagecoach and manzanita were included. Recommended Route: I started at the confluence (where the north and south fork meet) and just rode the loop. Take a sharp right at the trail head after the road climb (there are a couple other trails that go straight). Take a left after about a mile, go through the tunnel, cross a road and head trough the gate, take a right onto the trail after about a half mile and continue back along the river to the confluence. Next time I will start at the confluence and ride up stage coach, down manzanita, and then do the loop. This way you don't have to ride up stagecoach to finish the ride. Take 49 south from auburn to lincoln street and park near the bridge. Or just ask anyone in town how to get to the confluence. Other recommended trails in the same area: Don't know the area.

Weekend Warrior Summary: great ride technical at times. best area for black diamond and cross country riding in the aurburn area. Recommended Route: the good directions
park on the little bridge past the small green bridge where the nudist swim. after cross the bridge and turn left on the trail. after head up hill for about 4 miles. do it 2 times if your a real man. after there will be a lot of options to go downhill. take the dirt road up . for a little while you will go uphill. when you see the big tree on the left it ia all down hill from there. After the trail cross the road into the final downhill. there is a great jump on the side please hit it no matter who you are. after it is a rush downhill. ver technical.....rocky in winter. Other recommended trails in the same area: for beginners i recommend after the uphill go straight to the little down hill which is still tough. for great riders like myself after the first down hill take more road hill up to the moto trails which is very steep and technical.

, from Citrus Heights, CA Summary: Great trail, just like most of the people here said. We took a couple rookies here (one on a full rigid) and they had a good time. Not recommended for beginners however unless they are in good shape! That climb is a tough one and the downhills keep you on your toes. Past the culvert there are some sweet jumps and bumps ! Recommended Route: Manzanita -> Stagecoach, etc
