Summary:
Well maintained trail. There is a good mix of switch backs and small downhills and climbs. The trail is a bit dusty since it gets used by horses often. Great trail for someone who is just getting into mountain biking or if you're looking for something different to ride. I went early in the morning and no one was out there, but I've been told it can get busy with hikers and horses in the afternoons and the trail is pretty narrow.

Recommended Route:
There are 4 or 5 different loops you can take and I rode the stayed on the outer most loop for the most extended ride. Didn't get a chance to hit every trail, but each loop is only 1-2 miles.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
All the trails in Auburn. My favorite is starting at the top of the Foresthill Divide taking it to the Connector Trail, and down the Clementine Loop. Requires carpooling to the top unless you feel like riding back up which would be a pretty long ride.

Summary:
This Is a nice trail It is shared with Hikers and Horses and bikers. There are over 7miles of trails on this Reginal Park. It used to be a big cattle ranch but now the county bought it about 8 years ago and made it a tail park. (961acres) There's a year round waterfall, 30feet high. I bike this trail most every time I come to visit my Grandma here in Auburn (I live in Willits) The trail is about 4-6feet wide and is dirt. No shale! And is very well kept up. It's very easy for me. I'm a strong biker though. It starts at the top of a ridge and goes down to a creek crosses it and goes up the other side it's about a 5-15% grade for much of the way. it also had lots of trees and quite shady. There are 4main loops on this trail. Oh, and there are real flushing bathroom at the trial head! If you have farther questions contact me here: caudlepaul@yahool.com

Recommended Route:
To visit the park, Take Atwood Road west from Highway 49 in Auburn until it becomes Mt. Vernon Road. Follow Mt. Vernon Rd. to Meas Road (about 3.5 miles from DeWitt Center). Turn right (North) on Mears Road and follow to Mears Place. Park hours are from on half hour before sunrise to one half hour after sunset daily. From Mears road on out there are "Brown" sings pointing on turns where to go it's very easy for people who have never been there. Here's an online map cut and copy it in the web browser. "you have to have Adoby reader" http://www.placer.ca.gov/Departments/Facility/Parks/~/media/fac/fac%20%20%20parks%20and%20grounds%20division/documents/Hidden_Falls_Vicinity_Map.pdf.ashx

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Auburn Endurance Loop is quiet nice but not the best.
Clementine Loop
Foresthill Divide I think is the best for this area Auburn is the the best biking town.
