Weekend Warrior Summary: This trail has a little bit of everything. Switchbacks, rolling single-track, and several sections of rocky white-knuckle downhill. I believe CDF or a similair agency provides the maintenance for part or all of the trail, which at best could be described as minimal. A good majority of the trail has rocks, and there are some epic gardens. Recommended Route: If you're looking up the hill of Winchester Drive about half way up the hill, you want to look to your right. This direction sets you up for the best downhill section. "The Switchbacks" will be difficult either way, but this puts you on the side of the mountain with the better view as you're descending. Other recommended trails in the same area: I don't know of any in the immediate area.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Not for the faint of heart. Surprised I was the first to comment on this trail. Extremely challenging with steep and rocky terrain an intersting section of 20 or so switchbacks that allow riders to ascent about 300 feet in a very short distance. Lots of technical sections. Recommended Route: Counter-Clockwise unless you are an extreme rider. Other recommended trails in the same area: Foresthill Divide, Olmsted Loop, etc.
