Cross Country Rider Summary: Anything in Yo that is not paved is illegal, but I lived in the valley for years and have ridden everything, including moonlight rides to North Dome etc. The rangers will ticket you. There are cool legal rides in the Foresta area. Check out the fire lookout at Trumball peak all fire roads but really awesome views. Recommended Route: Probably should tell you to stay off the dirt, but there is a ten mile loop that parallels the road around the valley, just watch out for johnny law. They ride horses, but it should be ok in the off season. Other recommended trails in the same area: 007, Shuteye, Hite's cove etc.

Cross Country Rider Summary: It's a nice ride to do with the wife and kids. Bring your camera for some pictures suitable for framing. Recommended Route: stay on the paths. I saw a bunch of knucklehead BMX kids riding on some of the dirt trails with "no bike" signs. That just makes the forest service hate us even more than they do. I'd like to ride up to half dome, but until the USFS and Sierra Club stop looking at us like the devil, all that great riding is off limits. Don't give them more reasons to look down on us. Other recommended trails in the same area: 007
I hit it on my way home... epic ride after a week of bike lane rides in the valley.

, from Modesto, CA Summary: This is rated so high only because of the fantastic views of half dome, bridal veil falls, and yosemite falls. Go in the spring to beat the crazy crowds and see the most flowage from the falls. Not techinal, just crusin' checking out the scenery.
