Ridden Trail: Every few months

, from Santa Barbara Summary: The dirt road is what everyone else is saying about it. The trail down to 154 is all single track. The first mile is long switchbacks with super-smooth trail. The rest of it from there is a little rocky(with dualie). The part I love the most is the final half mile of single track. It is pretty technical and super fun. It's definetly worth doing. When you get to Cachuma you can get a drink or some ice cream(My favorite). Recommended Route: First, this route is if you can beg someone to drop you off and pick you up. Go down from the gun club. Then, right before you ride up to broadcast peak there is a trail that turns to the right. That goes all the way down to some camp grounds. You can keep going on the main road until you hit Hi-154. Then you can go towards Solvang until you see the Lake Cachuma park area. You can get picked up there. Other recommended trails in the same area: Tunnel(If the stupid hikers haven't closed it yet!!!)

, from SB Summary: Guys, the peak you are talking of is Broadcast Peak if the maps are correct. It's the highest mountain along the SB coast. I also don't really think of the way out to the peak from the gun club as climbing the whole way. I'd call it rolling terrain, tending towards more uphill onthe way out and more downhill on the way back, but there are decent climbs going both directions. This trail is really fun as an out and back race- but quite brutal. The downhill guys that started earlier than I and flew by on the descents were really bummed when my hardtail butt flew by them on that last steep one mile climb to the gun club. Not my highest rated local trail cuz I'd prefer more technical stuff up or downhill. Recommended Route: Gun Club to Broadcast and back.

, from Goleta, California, USA Summary: Not a trail for beginners. Lots of erosion on road, big rocks, loose rocks, sharp rocks. Also sandy areas where you can wash out when flying down hill. Also by any route the distance and climbing is only for those in good shape. As said, NO WALKING. The views from Santa Ynez peak are unbelievable. When you get there go up the small paved road to the top for a snack break. Your jaw will hang open from the views, so it may be hard to eat! But do eat. This ride will make you hungry. Be prepared to adjust your tires and/or forks for the assorted conditions along the way. There is a side trail near Broadcast Peak (the shorter hill just east of Santa Ynez Peak). It's called Tequipis trail. It will take you down to Lake Cachuma. Recommended Route: I like the long ride version. The climb up to Santa Ynez peak is long and steep, but the total ride is worth the Views. Shooting down the hill is awesome. So is that climb up to the gun club. Many people just park at the gun club and head west to Santa Ynez Peak and return by the same route. Other recommended trails in the same area: Tequipis Trail. This trail needs a review. Single Track. I've only ridden it once, so I think regulars would do a better job of reviewing it
