Cross Country Rider Summary: I'm a new rider trying to build my skills and endurance to start racing and this trail is perfect for that. The first climb is tough, experienced riders can grind it out but I had to stop and put out the fire in my quads twice before getting there. Once you get to the top (about 1 mile up) you get about a mile or two of ridgeline singletrack (don't look down) before starting a killer downhill that lasts about 3 or 4 miles and puts a hurting on your hands and forearms. Once you get down to water level you weave your way through some fun rolling track that follows the waterline as far as you want to take it. I've only gone in about 7 miles and came back out but I hear the ride to Squaw Leap is worth the trip if you have a ride there waiting for you. Recommended Route: Same as the others. Take Sky Harbor Drive all the way to the dead end then ride your bike off to the right to the bathrooms and take the first trail that heads straight up the hill. Go through the green gate and get to pedaling. Other recommended trails in the same area: ??? You tell me, I'm a rook.

, from Rocklin,Ca Summary: For a freerider and or downhiller this trail sucks. This is great if you are a climbing fool, but the downhills are not worth the climb. Very prety view etc. However getting home is a bitch, make sure if you try it you bring a lot of food, water, and smoke....

, from Fresno Summary: I agree with Adrian's review (good job man). This trail serves up great views, bear tracks and scat (these seen for the first time this year, apparently a new resident), wild turkey, bobcat and coyotes. It offers a steep 1 mile climb at the entrance of the trail (great descent coming out), 2 mile of ridge-side singletrack followed by a 1+ mile screaming descent (hurts comin' out!), followed by rock and roll grunt climb and steep descent single track. Not real technical but curvey, fast and FUN! Lake and river are in view for most of the ride. Lightly used and accesses 15 mile more trail if you ride it 18 mi. to the end at Squaw Leap (you can also drive to Squaw Leap). The SJRT is too hot for summer use but the Sierras are near by (see 007 review). In winter the traction is awesome and the trail takes rain well with minimal mud and rail-the-turns traction, green grass and wildflowers. Drive to Squaw Leap if you like technical with exposure. Check with any bike shop in Fresno for directions to either. Recommended Route: From 99 take 41 toward Yosemite, when almost through Fresno look for Friant Rd exit, go right (north). Continue past the dam (on left about 5 mi.), just before the eyesore Table Mountain Casino go left on Sky Habor Rd (big hill at the start). Drive all the way to the end, about 5 mi. Trail starts to the right of the bathrooms at the parking lot, begins climbing immediately.
