forget the previous routings. start in the region of the high school, up the hill to the filtering plant, the utility district doesn't mind if you ride back there (manager is a serious rider). beyond the filtering plant to the base of the dam, up the sharp rise, over the gate, up and then a very rarely used dbl track to your right heading downhill toward the over flow spill way. Across the overflow toward your right and up the other side to another dbl track. uphill and over a gate and then uphill to a county dirt road (Slaughterhouse Rd). Go up the road about a 1/2 mile and on your left is a PGE power line track. Tell PG&E to take a leap they only have easement rights and down't own the property, the owner is Van der Ahe and he doesn't seem to mind. This goes up severely (there are a number of laterals that come of the PG&E line over to Slaughterhouse that ease the pain of the severe climb but they are impossible to detect from Slaughterhouse and should be explored from the power line trail) to a bowl area which puts you on a dbl track that winds around and comes out on a lower ridge with a single track up hill to your right. This will put you up on the top of the ridge and then down the dbl track to a gate on your right that may be open over the gate and then dbl track to Allred Rd. None of this is overly technical but is a good local workout. The only areas that ever make me think twice are the exposed rock ledges at the overflow spillway and the steep ascent up the power line dbl track. Back to town any number of ways. Probably 5 miles to the top.

Re-read my description, and I guess it does sound better than it is...
Well, I'm working on a trail from fergusen mine dump to the south fork canyon because there's no decent riding around here...will keep all posted...

Summary:
Very disappointing. The submitter made it sound like a great bomibng down road to a sweet single track. It is very far from that. Not very steep roads and a weak, short single track section of maybe 200. Not worth doing.

Recommended Route:
started 1/4 mile higher on hwy 140 on the old highway that is growing over.

Summary:
Dont bleed your breaks or buckle your helmet unless you like dirt roads. Unless I took a wrong turn (IM pretty sure I didnt) I would say this trail is weak its just a dirt road with a few hundred feet of single track. I didnt like it its just mainly flat dirt road. Although the highschool has some sweet stairs, the stairs are the only cool part of the trail. Note: dont go there on school days

Recommended Route:
go down th dirt road turn right at the first inter section go on that trail till it hits a dirt road go on the dirt road and go up the spil way, youll see the high school go there.
