Lots and lots of rocks and singletrack. Views of Don Pedro Reservoir. Trails range from intermediate to advanced, some extreme. Very popular with horse people, be nice, they maintain the trails.

Trail Directions
From Merced take J59 North to Red Hill Road, just a few miles shy of the 108/120 intersection. From Modesto take 108/120 towards Sonora. Look for LaGrange Rd (J59) on right. Then take Red Hill Rd after a few miles in. From Stockton take HWY 4 towards Angels Camp. Right on O'Byrnes Ferry Rd. Left on 108/120, then 120 towards Yosemite. Right on Sims Rd, right and stay right on Red Hill Rd. Once on Redhill Road you can't miss the parking lot on the South side of the road. There are bathrooms and a trail map but no water. For after the ride, note that there is a watering hole called Shakes located back on 108/120 (just West of the O'byrnes Ferry intersection) featuring fine food, grog and exotic dancing. Nice way to end the day.

Summary:
This is my first time riding this trail and man it will kick your butt. It is used frequently by horses also and has some steep terrain. This trail provides you with a great cardio workout but rewards you with some fun downhill. I am definately going back really soon.

Recommended Route:

Summary:
Wow, no one has reviewed this lately. The place still has rocky 'thank sir, may I have another' singletrack. If you learn ride here and like it...you can handle just about anywhere, up or down. A warmup loop across the street from the parking lot is a good idea. Most the trails on that side are intermediate rated with a few short hike-a-bike sections.

Be nice to the horse people. They 'maintain' the area.

Summary:
I just don't ride here in the summer. Even on days under 100 degrees the air itself seems to suck all water out of you. But when it's cool, it's great. Lot's of singeltrack, rocky singletrack, beat you up and spit you out singletrack, but it's all ridable. Did I mention rocks?

Recommended Route:
From the main parking lot, do the trails on the other side of the road first, then loop back to the main parking lot. At the start of the trail take a right and head up. Wander.

Summary:
All of the routes are fun to do no regrets just go the opposite way and it's a whole different ride! Bring a full water pack 75oz. or more. 15 to 20 mi. at this place will kick your ass! It also calls you back for more if your body and brain can take it. Love this place. Summary:
I've been driving right past this place to get to Glory Hole for years. Glory Hole is nice, but it gets boring. Red Hills is sweet. Great place to work on technical climbing skills. I wouldn't recomend this for riders without technical skills though. Like others have said- lots of rocks. But that's what makes it so cool. I only rode for two hours and didn't even ride a third of the trails. This place is going to be my main trail this fall/winter.

Recommended Route:
Old stage. Lookout loop was cool too.

Glory Hole
