Rattlesnake Ridge: Yosemite, Foresta Elevation drop is 2,500 Length is 10 miles almost all downhill One can ride up the Foresta Road which starts in El Portal on Hwy 140 for 6 miles or you can shuttle this by driving a car to Foresta and starting at either the junction of Hwy 120 and the Old Coulterville Road(this gives you 2 miles down on paved road) or you can drive into Foresta for 2 miles and start the ride at the end of the paved road. Follow the dirt road, now called the Foresta Road down for about a 3/4ths of a mile and take the sharp left turn by a meadow. Go down of a mile to a bridge by a waterfall. Continue on for another mile or so going up a short hill and then past a sometimes locked gate. Go almost a mile along this open area, going under some power lines till you come to a sharp right turn. If you were to follow this dirt road down you would come out in El Portal on Hwy 140. The single track starts here on your left dropping in to some rounded dirt mounds and then going left. The first mile or so is fast with the last mile extremely steep and technical!!!!!
