Cougar Trail traverses 4 canyons with ups and downs, some steep and challenging. 600 foot steep climb on Bobcat Trail to panoramic and sweeping views along High Ridge, long fast downhill for climax.

Summary:
Cougar is a cool singletrack that meanders closely along the edge of the Lopez Lake campground. Not the type of trail for someone who wants to be out in the wilderness. It's a fun, rolling singletrack with some rockiness and lots of ups and downs. Great for people who don't like to have their climbing broken up with little downhill sections. Be prepared to pay a day use fee for parking, also.

Recommended Route:
Cougar as described above is cool. Myself being a lover of singletrack, though, I would forget the "high ridge loop" part. Ride Cougar out and back, and then find some other cool rides to do in the area. There are plenty. I would recommend "Two Waters", among others.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Two Waters, and many others the names of which I forget.
