Weekend Warrior Summary: I live in llansihen and rode up past the deri up the huge hill, past a couple of farmers fields and took a left down a 1 track horse route... some real high jumps built into the hill, it was wet and had snowed the day before i went and fell off my bike twice... good fun though - good breaks and tyres needed! Going to do this once a week, so many different routes to choose from in the lanes! Recommended Route: rocky 2 Other recommended trails in the same area: any of them, theres loads!!

Downhiller Summary: Love this place week after week. Some thing to sute everybody, any weather, any mood all year round. We live in Cardiff, about 10 miles from the trails, so we cycle there. Once yo get up the killer hill leading to the Red Castle, from Tongwinlais take a break - to admire its beauty, then keep going up! At the top theres much choice. turn left for the Taff Trail, Right for a bone breaking DownHill (good brakes essential) or straight on for an adventure.
Go up and down as much as possible - its worth it! Also the other side of the road and river offres plenty exitment.
Cars and vans travle a bit fast on that road so approach sensibly. GoRide! Recommended Route: Explore! There are many. Other recommended trails in the same area: The Taff Trail, Cwmcarn, Wenallt, Rudry, Sirhowy and Little Garth.

, from Caerphilly Summary: Straight from the car park into excellent singletrack, just follow it for as long as you want, do the bombhole (a must), personally I like going right down to Rocky 1, a nice rocky descent which will get the novices crapping themselves, only thing is you have to climb back up the hill. Once back up at the top you can go left or right it's up to you, if you turn right down collarbone hill it's ssssslippery man, go as fast as you dare, now you're on the other side of the main path, there's lots of singletrack in here just explore and find your own routes, beware of rocky 2 though, this one is very loose and comes out onto the lane, cross the lane and river though and you can do the switchbacks, lovely climb (not) and across the top back to the car park or right down an awesome descent which is a bit tight in places and comes out on the bottom of the switchbacks and back to the bottom of the castle where if you are adventurous you can climb the banking and go back into the woods and up the steps. Did it on my own last week in the night, very spooky!! Recommended Route: Go from the car park up the singletrack and then make up your own mind. Other recommended trails in the same area: Wenallt, Rudry, Cwmcarn, Sirhowy and Little Garth.
