An easy 4km climb along the main access trail once at the top there is a short sharp single track back down to the car park. Or off to your right a fast 2km decent down through forest of pine to a small valley. Riding through the valley you then have a steep climb back up to the main trail (Valley View Road)Floowing this back up allong the hill tops take a turn off at the 'AirField' turn off this then decends for approx 4km to a Y intersection. Taking the right fork you will climb back to the main trail and return to the car park or taking the left fork you then have a short (easy)climb then a very fast descent into the karapoti gorge. Crossing the bridge turn right and ride down through the very beautiful karapoti gorge exiting at Akatarawa Road return to the car park via the road.

Summary:
The forest decent is very fast. Hard off camber corners rain traps cut across the track make some of the exits from corners a little technical. Its short but a huge blast.

Recommended Route:
I would highly recommend the forest decent. Very cool. Just watchout for fallen trees across the track. Ouch...!

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Mt Climie.
