Pista La Trucha

Average Rating:    (5 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 1

Pista la Trucha is a 5.5km descent that rollercoasters its way down through the cloudforests on the lower slopes of the 4260 metre high Cofre de Perote. During rainy season there are better trails nearby to ride, but for most of the year this track littered with berms, roots, jumps and drops, can hardly be beaten.

Search for MexicoMTBcom on Pinkbike to view a video of the trail, and google the Avalanche race held on the 13th March 2011 which was held on this track.

All-mountain bikes rule on this trail, and many would prefer a lightweight downhill bike for it.

You may find your way to it, but book a ride with MexicoMTB.com and even rent a top-end bike from them, to get the best out of your stay in the area.

Summary:
One of the best trails in the area, or possibly Mexico! For most of the year this trail has got serious flow - the berms really are sooo railable, and the drops and jumps that the locals have added are great fun too. There's nothing too extreme here so most decent MTBs will do, although a longish travel all-mountain or freeride bike will help and make things more fun.

Recommended Route:
If you find it difficult to find then most round here would recommend booking a ride with MexicoMTB.com - they'll shuttle you up there for as many runs as you can handle, and show you the other best trails in the area.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Araña Negra, El Conejo, singletrack descents off the Cofre de Perote, the list is endless!
