Weekend Warrior Summary: Chiluca, while it has some drawbacks (motocross bikes in only some singletracks and cars on fireroads), still has some very amazing trails. It is very intresting to learn new trails where you think there were none. Recommended Route: If I feel in good shape, I like going up 'las hojas' to come down 'pinball', which is a nice and fast trail, then get down via 'tierra roja' or 'la sangrienta', which is a trail with many gnarly singletracks. Then get in the woods up to Espíritu Santo, a nice town, and then get back down.

Other recommended trails in the same area: Ajusco

, from Florida (Living in Mexico CIty) Summary: Chiluca used to be fun. There were many trails and the MTBkers respected locals and the environment. Since the entry of "naco" motorbikers, the place has spiraled downwards. There are too many 2-cycle freaks. Tony Soprano Naco-style who carry handguns inside their body armor. Beware of these people. Also, thanks to the large number of motorbikers, the residents of chiluca have put up storm fencing and eliminated many single-track trails. Recommended Route: Start out at the water tower. Turn left at the kennel (show dog club) and climb about 1.5miles. Then turn right where you see the trail moving into the Mountain. This leads up to the Top Gun model flight school/club where you can take a fun DH back to the soccer field. Other recommended trails in the same area: THere are many other trails that no one will tell you about since these people want to keep them private. Chiluca is a good example of what can happen if one tries to popularize the sport.

Other recommended trails in the same area: Ninguno, vayan al Ajusco, Toluca o Morelia
