Summary:
If your ever in Cumbria this cannot be missed! I love it! A good slog to the top but what a grin by the time you get to the bottom, How fast can you go........

North loop is my fave but must admit all 3 are good , one being a blue but still impressive. This trail took me to Full sus and I only started to ride last year ( hard tail for a mere 4 month!) All 3 can be achieved in a day !!

Go on you know you wanna........

Summary:
Was up in Keswick, just down the road and this was an opportunity I'm glad I didn't miss. I did the blue route as a warm up and this shouldn't be under-estimated. I was complacent and soon paid for my lack of attention. Swooping sections with berms and nice climbing. Very loose shale type ground, which can get away from you if you overcook it.

The red North Loop was the high-light for me. A nice technical climb up the side of a steep hill with a couple of small descents thrown in. Then it's a slog onto the fire-road and up to the top. A nice section through the trees with some technical drops on corners and then a very quick descent snaking down the hill side. Little lumps and tightish berms make this very interesting! Opportunity to double up!

Recommended Route:
North Loop of the Altura

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Grizedale down the road aways has a very technical climb if you like that sort of think like myself.

Summary:
The most fun you can have in the Keswick area without any hassle. Lots of tight and twisty single track on the Altura North and South trails. Jumps, berms, and technical features make this trail system really fun to ride. The Blue has some of the same features, but with less intensity.

Summary:
i visited this trail with freinds on a wet wet weekend and had a lot of fun. Plenty of climbing to keep you warm. 5 sections each with a different character and getting progressivly faster. Lots of technical stuff, but beautifully flowing too. Did the whole thing on the second ring. I found the slate to be far more grippy than I expected. Loved this trail. I haven't had as much fun since Afan 17km.

Recommended Route:
Do it all in order and enjoy the finish with puts a smile on everyones face.
