Technical singletrack with lots of twists, rises, dips, roots, the trees that supply the roots and the everpressent wetness that is a forrest in the UK.

Summary:
Flat and fast, could be tighter and more technical for a "black" route.. Why no log pyrmids or man made obstacles to spice it up? Good trail for those working on fitness and basic riding skills. Still fun, and the only cohesive loop trail I know of in the area.

Recommended Route:
Black follow the arrows, go fast.. Safe for a beginnerchild with the exception of the "beast" which is a little technical.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
I don't know of any

Summary:
Don't know where the geeza before me was riding but surely you haven't riden the last third of the black route. There's one section described as "extreme" which is just that - Slight downhill, big dips, tight singletrack, lots of trees and usually people going in the wrong direction round the one-way system :-) The only thing wrong with this run is that it is over in a couple of minutes. Top hole while it lasts though and the rest of Thetty has enough to keep you engaged for a good afternoon. I know it doesn't have 30mph downhills but get yourself a light and excited hardtail and you'll have a blast. Failing that get out the freeride/bmx and hit the bombholes.

Recommended Route:
Black Route + explore around from the High Peak centre.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Shame anglia is flatter than a witches tit... try Sherwood Pines about an hour and a half north - all good.

Summary:
Thetford forest sucks. I've ridden cracked sidewalks that were more challenging. I've been all over this pancake flat forest and have lost any and all inspiration to ride in this god-forsaken crap hole any more.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The A11 at night w/o lights

Summary:
I tried this route after reading the reviews on this page and there's no doubt - it's quality.
All the different names for the Black Route make it a little confusing though, and once there, the trail itself wasn't particularly well sign posted. I found it by accident whilst riding one of the many fire roads, and followed it from there.
The route itself was fun but didn't warrant the many warnings that park officials feel is necessary; it's a larf but you're not gonna die or anything on it.

Recommended Route:
From the visitor centre at High Lodge into the forest and then pretty much anywhere

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Anywhere in the forest itself is cool enough.
