South Downs Way

Average Rating:    (4 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 1

Britain's Best Bridleway The 161 kilometre long South Downs Way follows the old routes and droveways of ancient man along the chalk escarpment and ridges of the South Downs. The route provides the visitor with the opportunity "to get away from it all" without having to travel too far in this busy part of England. The undulating route provides a wonderful trip for long distance riders as well as walkers. It also provides interesting day trips and short breaks

Having ridden the chalk trails a few times with Trailbreaks, in day and night, I have to say the camaraderie is the best thing about riding the SDW. It's a great route to ride socially and at race pace.

Recommended Route:
For those who think map reading can ruin the ride a free GPS trail is available here. http://activefuel.co.uk/index.php?cPath=51

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Lots of great riding in the Surrey Hills as well.
