Ridden Trail: Once a week
| |
Reviewed by: Sean Braiden
, from Powys UK Summary: There are variations to this trail. (See if you can find two more hidden lakes). Although I have cycled and walked this route lots oif times I have never seen another walker or cyclist up there. Recommended Route: Please note: You must turn LEFT as you leave Adfa, Not right! The start of the trail is uphill for a mile with several gates to pass through. As you reach the top you will see a tall mast. (This area may become a wind farm in the future). Pass the mast and along the ridgeway for several miles. Eventually you will come to a farm beside a lake. Descend with care, turn right and go past the farm and you are now in the valley heading back towards Adfa. It is a very isolated and peaceful area with nothing but sheep for miles! The trail gets a bit technical from this point and care is necessary. There are two fords to cross and if there has been very recent heavy rain they may be impassable. It is straight forward from here and will take you back to Adfa, Other recommended trails in the same area: The Elan valley. (30 miles away)
