Summary:
Please don't ride on the access areas. You could f**ck it up for everyone. They are only Access Areas so public access could be rapidly withdrawn if the landowner (The Duke?) gets pi**ed off with MTB-ers. Dog owners should also note for the same reason. There are plenty of other legal places to go riding so lets stick to those (unless someone knows the Duke well enough to get formal permission!!!!)

Recommended Route:

Summary:
Ok here are the routes as of 21/6/99:
1) MX Track
Originally created this time last year by chorley enduro club this opened up many little used footpaths to serious mtbing. The track circles the hill and also reaches the summit. For the downhillers there are two near continuous runs from the summit with several diversionary roots that have appeared.
For those of us with XC tendencies most of the hills are ridable in the dry - beware its very hard! See if you can make the summit without stopping.
Full descent from summit is about 3.11
Best way to explore is to walk the course yourself. Start from the valley bottom - its hard to miss the point where the trails dive down to the bridleway - select a direction and explore.
Surface is dusty and dry.
At the start of June a second MX race was held - the track has now doubled in size and in severity - beware of the steep hills - brakes don't work. Compressions bottom out all suspension known to man!
As with last year the surface will harden up after a bit of rain.
Oh, this trail is not that legal but no-one seems to mind.
PLEASE HELP THE BRACKEN GROW BACK BY STICKING TO THE LINE - then we can get our singletrack back! 2) Bridleway Fine descent for the non - adventurous bikers - mind out for walkers. 3) Permissive path to Harrisend Don't do it- the path's in a terrible state - walkers, no us and it really isn't worth the bother at the moment. 4) Bridleway to Harrisend Fine if you like trackless fields! OTHERS Try any of the shooting tracks on the moors - farmers don't seem to mind. Duke probably does.
Fairnsnape, Fiensdale, Parlick recommended. Also from Garstang there are nice hard FPs from Wyre Lane and Woodacre.

Recommended Route:
#1 - Grisedale Valley / Nicky Nook
