As above

Recommended Route:
This is an addition to the route submitted by David. On your way down the valley, just after you pass the dam that creates the resevoir, you can head left up to a pumping-station-thing. From there, you can take a quick section of singletrack back down to the main bridleway. At the end is a steep rocky descent which is always fun (and a test for less experienced riders). This route is off the main bridleway and is not strictly legal, but the likelihood of coming across anyone is low.
Nicky Nook is basically a short blast. Picturesque but pretty recreational. For bigger and better trails you should head north to the Lakes.

Summary:
The Terrain is 95% rideble with only the seacond of the
2 Deep fords causing real problems the main track is fast and weatherproof with a bumpy decent which is fine o a hard tail but fully rigid riders will have to keep dabbing the brakes to keep things in check.
If you're a beginner/intermediate rider who lives close by this is definatly worth the climb from scorton other wise if you're travveling for your ride then either gisburn or dunsop bridge has trails well worth the journey

Recommended Route:
There no two ways about it. THE ONLY way to ride this bridleway is frowm Harrisend fell downhill to scorton.
Coming from scorton head for the harrisend fell road (An OS map may be useful) look for the ford if you can with the sign cyclists dismount (Don't you just love those) then from the sothern, (oakenclough) end and follow bridleway sp R. Just before the bridge (be careful not to overshoot. Then follow the muddy trail through several small fords to a Wyre borough council sign. Take the permissive path down the river which is quite muddy and of questionable ridability in places. Go over the fallen tree unless you happen to be Steve Geal or Hans Rey 'cause it's about 3 1/2 ft high and has steps sawn into it than continue though some (very) deep fords following the track until you rejoin the main bridleway

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Yes Delph lane , the quarry MX track come and have a go if you think youre hard enough
