Haldon Hill

Average Rating:    (4 of 5)

Haldon Hill, near Exeter, was the first Bike Park I ever went to. I rode the Red Route and it was amazing. It has Fast flowing singletrack, Northshore sections and awesome berms. MBUK quite recently slagged off Haldon in a trail review, ignore it. I had a lot of respect for Russel Burton untill the article came out, however he did come down after a storm that caused some damage to the trail. Haldon also has a brilliant Freeride area with Drop offs, Huge Kickers and lots of technical Northore.

Summary:
the two trails i have rode there are the 'adventure trail' which is very flat and quite twisty so not a fast ride and only takes a matter of a few minutes to ride but can be used as a warm up track. be aware though some people take small children on this track so keep your eyes peeled!! it can be annoying!!
the better trail is the what they call the 'freer ride trail' this is a bit more testing with jumps, berms, rockeries and a bit of north shore. it might not be world class but i think definately worth a ride if in the area. near the bottom of the valley there is a free ride area with a number of jumps and north shore and a short twisting slightly downhill track with more jumps, berms and rockeries.
it might not be that technical or hard but it is a good laugh for a quick blast around if you only have a couple of hours to spare, you might need to do it a couple of time though
