Gliders - Jack Mytton Way decent

Go through the gate and follow the forestry road all the way to the top at the cross roads go straight over till you hit the gate, Go through the gate follow the trail along the back of the airfield at the next gate turn left and follow the grassy track down through a series of gates stick to the left hand track dont take any of the right turns.When you get close to the bottom you will hit a gate and some sheep pens head of left across the field down a steep hill or stick to the trail and turn left at the bottom.Follow the farm track/single track for approx 1.5 miles along the bottom of the hill.Some parts are a bit tricky to work out where the path goes but its fun trying to make your way round however you do it.After 1.5 miles the track passes the back of a farm and heads up to the bottom corner of the forest. Follow the track through a few more gates along the bottom edge of the forest till it narrows and joins a narrow and pretty overgrown track that leads you between two fences..Watch out for nettles.Follow this for 0.5 of a miles where you should pass a farm on your right and pop out just above where you have parked the car.TAKE A OS MAP WITH YOU just in case.

Follow A49 from shrewsbury out towards Church Stretton, Go past Church stretton for a few miles till you come to the B4370 at Marshbrook, Turn right over the railway lines and follow the road for about a mile.Take a right up a narrow lane through Hamperley till the lane meets a gravel area and a gate (Priors Holt)Park here.

Summary:
Nice track to do if you just want to stretch your legs. Nice steady climb to the top with a Long fast but easy downhill along the grass and then a quirky cross country ride to get back to the car.

Recommended Route:
Use a os map to get you directions right. On the decent look out for optional steep sections that would lead you to the same place. Wear long shorts or be prepared for plenty of nettle stings.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Do the Minton Batch decent in the morning and this in the afternoon, If your still alive do the Minton batch again.
