Summary:
Forest of dean has two trails plus the downhill.
The two i have been on are verderers and freeminers. Personally they dont give me that wow factor or buzz due to the rewards you actually get. Freeminers is a more technical ride and verderers is more for if you just fancy going really fast. Its very short and a long way to go to get there, but if you are knew to mountain biking then this is the place to go. This is the first place i went too...i loved it, but then moved onto bigger trails like afan, this then slowly got boring when i did it again and didnt give me that buzz. I like to feel that i have worked out a big too.

Summary:
Forest of Dean Family Trail.

There's confussion in this listing because there are 3 routes which start from The Forest of Dean Cycle Centre;
- The 12 mile Family trail
- The 3 mile FODCA Trail (technical 'Red' Route)
- A Downhill run (I think it's called the Endura, but I could be wrong)

The family trail is what it says it is, suitable for kids and stuff. The FODCA trail is a corker; drop offs, scary downhills, loads of jumps; definately worth a trip, but only 3 miles long. The downhill too is excellent but short.

Recommended Route:
There are countless other routes in the Forest of Dean, some of which are truly excellent; but you really need access to local knowledge to find the best stuff. Accommodation can also be a problem; we stay in a pub in the village of Parkend, which is pretty central and close to some great trails.

Summary:
after riding my local the day before (leckhampton) this is a very un event full DH trails, one or two big jumps but if you dont know the trails not a good idea to attempt as very difficult landings, one with roots that makes your front tire disappear from beanieth you and the other you land in a burn with some seriose brake bumps, only techical sections there are really, the DH runs are fun to do some fast sections some very slow and alot of pedaling involved.

Recommended Route:
get directions from pedalabikeaway easyest way

Other recommended trails in the same area:
dont know any others as only done DH
