Dumyat

Average Rating:    (4.67 of 5)

The Darn Path is technical but not too extreme, the road climb to Pendreich is steep and long but do-able. Pendreich is easy and Dumyat is excellent - all singletrack with some rocks thrown in for good measure!

Summary:
Go past the golf course and into the woods. If you continue up through these you`ll come to a large gate beside Logie kirk. Go over this and up the road. TGo right at the first junction and continue up until you reach the Dumyat parking space. Go over the sty and tke the lower path on the right. Follow this path toward the woods, these have some really fun and challenging trails. Most of which wont take longer that 25 minutes due to the rate of descent. I especially recommend the series of switchbacks. Try to do this outside of summer as the trail gets over run with nettles and walkers.

Recommended Route:
Up through the top of stirling Uni.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
If you only have a spar 20 minutes try the cliff top trail down Wallace monument.

Summary:
Really good trail - has a lot of different singletrack and not much road cycling (about 3 miles once at the start).

Recommended Route:
Once at the start follow the singletrack until you come to a big bridge over the river. Once over the bridge turn left and then after 100 yards turn right up the hill. You'll come out at a road that will take you past the golf course and up to Pendreich woods. Through the woods until you come to the resevoir, skirt the side of the resevoir and follow the track to the right. Dumyat is across the road and over the fence. Both tracks join later on, once your at the top turn round for a really technically fast descent - take the left track when it splits and head down the the wall. Over the gate and down the singletrack - this is very steep, very rough and can only be ridden at speed - by the time you get here your hands hurt too much to brake! The track brings you out at the cemetry, turn right and head past the Wallace Monument. This road will take you back to Bridge of Allan if you arrived by car.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
North Third and Cambusbarron
