Cannop Loop

Average Rating:    (5 of 5)

Takes in some of the Forest’s gnarliest singletrack and only suitable for very experienced riders. Rideable at most times of the year, but definitely best during the summer months as some sections are very badly affected by wet weather.

Starts off gently from Parkend, following the family cycle trail to reach Mary-Rose Young’s pottery. After crossing the road there’s a fairly tough climb to the 'Motorcycle Trail', then back up again for 'Dowies 2'. Crossing the main road again, there's a long climb to Worcester Lodge, and the 'Old Racetrack' downhill. Then cross the valley before returning to Parkend on the 'Leat' singletrack.

Stunning trail, taking in 'The Motorcycle Trail', 'Dowies 2', 'The Old Racetrack' and more. The motorcycle trail is the hardest section with several really trick drops. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't very experienced.

Recommended Route:
Starts and finishes in Parkend. If you need accommodation, The Fountain Inn is an excellent place to stay.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Mallards Pike Loops #1 and #2.
