Cross Country Rider Summary: When i first went to the trail i thought it would be like a park but boy, was i mistaken. The trail features some tecnical parts of the trail with up-earthed routes and rocks. Near the end there is a nice bit of double track downhill which i thought was great after a grewling ride to get the wind in your face. Recommended Route: Follow the signs to the suspension bridge. Other recommended trails in the same area: In Braknell, there is a trail called the look out, BUT, that is were people go to walk there dog. it is mostly all double track apart from the small litlle down hill course which lasts about 3 mins but is great fun and i would recomend to take the family on a nice day.

Cross Country Rider Summary: A short drive accross Bristol takes me to the trail and it is very convenient for midweek rides if I get off work early. I like it but I prefer to go fast and unfortunately there are only a few parts of the trail where you can build up some speed. The roots and logs in 50 acre wood can be quite interesting in the wet...good for honing your balance techniques. There is a really cool piece of downhill which isn't actually on the main trail, its in the middle of the golf course in a little wood. Recommended Route: As above Other recommended trails in the same area: Will be checking out cwmcarn and afan argoed asap when I get over there. Priddy woods on the Mendip hills is pretty cool for some faster stuff.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Great place to begin mountain biking. Nothing too technical, but stil fun for the more advanced. leigh woods is close by if u want a little bit extra. mainly twisty singletrack thru thin gaps in trees, being the most technical thing of the trail. athough Afan Argoed ios probvably much better, this trail is still very good Recommended Route: To start, cross the suspension bridge and go thru the main gates of ashton court. As soon as u enter there is an opening on the right. Then its up to u, follow the signs until u get bored. Other recommended trails in the same area: leigh Woods

Weekend Warrior
, from Bristol Summary: The Timberland Trail has been open for a few months now and I have done it at least once a week since opening. (I live only a couple of miles away so it is good for a short blast)
Initially the waymarking was poor but it has improved over the last few weeks - though a few more markers would help.
The trail has a variety of types of terrain but is predominantly tight twisty single track. It is not particularly fast but is great for sharpening up the slow speed skills.
The only section that beginners may struggle with is near the end of the 50 Acre Woods section. Even here though most should be within the reach of even absolute beginners with a dab or two.
Whole route should take 40 minutes to 1.5 hours Recommended Route: Over Clifton Suspension Bridge, straight up the Road and into Ashton Court. The Trail starts on the right hand side next to the Gate. Follow the Waymarking. Make sure you don't miss the opening on the wall next to the road about ten minutes in. You need to cross over the road here to get into 50 acre woods. Form there the waymarking is pretty good. Exit 50 acre woods . Follow the road back to Ashton Court next to the quarry and then pretty staight forward to get back to the start from here. Other recommended trails in the same area: Leigh Woods
Cwm Carn (about 40 minutes away)
Afan Argoed (about an hour away)
