Downhiller Summary: Update:
I have now uncovered the original down hill route I used to ride in my youth!
We have set to work restoring this to its former glory and it is now fully ridable.
It starts at the top the wooded area at top of the hill (opposite end to the bomb holes) and includes a 3 foot drop off, 2 berms, a kicker ramp and a 2 foot table top which gives great air and has a good run out.
We are also developing an alternative longer trail which has a steep down hill section through a wooded 'tunnel' which is great fun at night with good lights! Recommended Route: See above. The traisl are best reached by entering Welcombe hills park from the Clopton gate (off Blue cap road). From this gate ride into the park and enter the woods on your right through the gate before you go up the hill.
The bomb holes will be right in front of you.
Head up hill to the right through the woods and you should find the trails. Other recommended trails in the same area: Aston Hill near Aylesbury best near the Midlands.
Cannock chase down hill is starting to look good and well worth a visit.

, from Stratford Summary: Best local riding but not worth travelling more than 10 miles to ride. It was my first taste of proper XC / freeriding and I now travel all over to ride (Going to Inerlethein in August). If you want to try it out drop me an email I am up their 2 or 3 nights in the summer to keep my fitness up. Recommended Route: From the top of the wood down to the bomb holes. Only about 30 seconds but best down hill. I am hoping to build a proper trial through the rest of the wood to extend it when I get time Other recommended trails in the same area: From Welcombe Hills you can make a XC route of upto 20 miles around the local area without touching many proper roads using bridle paths etc.
