, from forest town,Mansfield Summary: this place is poor to say the least, the bike shop thats in the forest next to the cafe is way too over priced and the advise from them is about as good as asking your gran.infact your gran probley knows more :) what ever you want from the bike shop probley wont be in stock as thay dont have much stock in but thay do say (it will be in next week ;)) Yer Right. the hire bikes are old, nacked, and way over priced per hour to hire.but saying all this the the cafe next to this bike shop is nice, the food is good and the cafe staff are realy helpfull. paul the owner of the bike shop has the brains of a lemon so please be advised, his dad RAY is a gray haired old man who hates children & needs to retire as he speaks to the kids like thay are crap. Recommended Route: round a tree :P ANY WERE BUT SHERWOOD PINES. Other recommended trails in the same area: the bike track around the robin hood tree is good for XC riders and the family as there is loads to see and loads of stuff for the kids to do.

You can ride nearly the whole length of sherwood pines on single track so get out and explore. The car park is now 2.00 but if you visit a lot you can get a season ticket. The waymarked cycle route is mainly on fireroads and is good for family groups. Ridden Trail: Every few months
| |
Reviewed by: Andrew Hunter
, from Derby, England Summary: The XC race route is not marked out permanently so the best advice I have is to go along to one of the XC meetings (most Sundays) and either take part or follow the markers out of the race. This way you'll soon discover all sorts of hidden single track linking the fast fire road sections. Recommended Route: The XC Race Route is the key to really getting the most out of this area. Other recommended trails in the same area: Head south to Cannock Chase for a similar ride. If you want rocky then head to the northern Peak district and if you like it gloopy the southern (white peaks) are for you
