Downhiller Summary: Before I start I must say that this is a reveiw of the Downhill aspect of Penshurst and not the Dirt Jumping (The dirt jumping looked very good, it's just not my thing)
I turned up this weekend expecting to do some DH on the short courses which are mentioned on the PORC website. Short is the word ! about 30 foot to be exact, I could find nothing which resembled a downhill course, in fact it was so bad that after 1/2 a hour walking around I decided to go home without even taking the bike out of the car.
If as much effort was put into making a couple of DH courses as has been spent on making Dirt jumps the place would be worth regular visits.
I was aware of the remains of a couple of DH courses which seemed to have been destroyed by the recent tree felling, perhaps I picked the wrong weekend, I hope so.
I have an open mind and I will probably visit again (although it is a long way to drive for nothing) I havn't written PORC off completely as the area has great potential and if the right course was built it could be excellent. If I am wrong and the DH aspect of PORC is just out of order and awaiting a rebuild then I appologise, however a big banner on teh website telling people not to bother would be a good idea.
Finally, I am led to beleive that there is to be a DH race at Penshurst this weekend, Perhaps everyone turns up and PORC provides a bus to take them all to Wales.
The rating I have given is 1 because 0 was not on the options. Recommended Route: Spend some extra time in the car and go to Wales.

Downhiller Summary: I cammped at Penshurst for 3 days and 2 nights, it was very good, brilliant 4X track, very fast, nice big table tops and doubles. The 3 short Dowhnill courses tracks were amazing, there is a steep technical one, a fast one with a large road gap jump and drop, i didnt do either on my hard tail but sonce then ive done some big drops and high air jumps so i might give it a go. and the final curses rooty and logs to roll over and rocky. Amazing, first DH courses i have ridden, and i did them really well, fast next year i might enter a race. Recommended Route: just get to the MTB club ririding spot and ride. Other recommended trails in the same area: don't no any others part form the mtb area

Weekend Warrior Summary: Porc is the bomb! The sections are fast and deadly and are a must for all the stupid ass adrenalin junkys out there.
If dirt jumping is your thing than the quary will talor to your every need, however a full face and body armour is strongly recomended as biting the dirt is common. Recommended Route: 4x

, from Madrid Gracelands Summary: The place is OK, but not that big. Lots of fairly big jumps. Owned by an arogant and unhelpfull money grabber (this opinion is not just my own). By all means go down there and have a blast, but I can't abide with giving him any of my hard earned:( Recommended Route: Any where else. Other recommended trails in the same area: Awesome bit of forest with bigger and better jumps 10 miles away! And I don't have to pay for it:)
