Downhiller Summary: Bringewood is an excellent place to ride, from the top its fast and flowin and theres great drops, jumps and berms and loads of different lines to choose from, all scattered with roots which can be tricky when wet! A nice jump takes you across the fire road and into the lower section which leads you straight over a rock garden before headin into thick trees which is fast, but not easy to see. A brilliant track, but not for the faint hearted, the best in Shropshire for sure and a great days downhillin. Enjoy Recommended Route: Head for Ludlow on the A49 from Shrewsbury,as you approach Ludlow look for road bearing left off the A49 signposted Ludlow. continue on this road past the school on the right and the vauxhall garage on the right, heading for the town centre. Up the bank through the town, straight over traffic lights on crest of bank. Follow road round down by the river on the left hand side, to traffic lights at bridge. turn left over bridge up bank, turning right just past the Charlton arms hotel, signposted forestry commision. go up the bank past mortimer forest, just over the top of the hill turn right up dirt track signposted Hazel coppice. along the dirt track park in the second or third cut out in the hill. up the track a little and turn right, up through the wood bout 400 yards youl see a concrete pillar, your at the start of the downhill run. Other recommended trails in the same area: Hopton castle

Ridden Trail: Once a year

, from UK/Germany Summary: The whole area here has some totally wicked riding. The NPS as already stated likes this area both for DH and XC. There is a custom buily XC course further up the road (I think it's called Mortimer Forest) which has a really good zig zag of camber descent half way around. That's to the right of the road if you drive out from Ludlow and there is some really good riding to the left of the road too with another good downhill run at the top if you can find it.( Follow the fire road from the carpark and once at the top there is a bird look out hut. Through some bracken on the right is the start of the other downhill run). A great days riding to be had here. The trails are very rooty with peaty soil which drains reasonably well interspersed with fire road climbing. Recommended Route: To get to Ludlow best idea is to take M54 (if you don't live in Wales) to Shrewsbury and take the A something or other to Ludlow, then follow above directions. Other recommended trails in the same area: This whole area is famous for its MTBing (at one time the NPS was nicknamed the 'Shropshire Points Series') but you can understand why when you see the quality of riding within easy access. Other areas to look for are Hopton woods (which the Specialized winter series runs here), the Long Mynd (some great riding to be done here if XC is your bag), Eastridge and the Wrekin/Ercall (see separate review).
