Wonderful settings in the norwegian high mountains. This is in fact a trail that was used for transporting material when building the high mountain railways. The trail starts off at 850 meters and climbs up to 1340 meters at the highest point. From there, it goes all the way down to sea-level, where you find yourself deep inside a narrow fjord surrounded by 1600 meter high steeping mountain-sides! The trail is mainly gravel and rocks, there are some fairly demanding stretches, but the scenery is what makes me come back every year. Glaciers, waterfalls, mountains, it's just magnificent! The trail is open from june (due to snow conditions) until the first snow in the fall, usually in early october. There are excellent lodging opportunitities along the way.

Excellent ride

Recommended Route:
From start to end. If you want an easier ride, you can continue by train to Finse and take the descent to Flm, which should be a good day-trip
