Cross Country Rider Summary: The most technical singletrack riding to be found in the Athens area. Tarmac road through the middle. Wider fire roads to connect the sometimes rocky, sometimes smooth and flowing singletrack. Beautiful forest. Recommended Route: Exit the Ymittos ring Motorway at Kessariani and turn left. Park just after the fire hut and bollards. Start on the singletrack on either side of the road. Left is a climb on a mix of rocks and smooth trails or right is a steep climb on dirt/roots. Up on dirt roads and down on singletrack. Its a great place to explore! Other recommended trails in the same area: Royal Forest at Tatoi, Pendeli, Parnitha

Weekend Warrior Summary: Fantastic riding. Haven't come across such a great bit of trail in the middle of a city yet. After riding in Arizona and California, it was hard to believe that such incredible singletrack could be found in the middle of a major metropolis. Recommended Route: Ride from the starting point at the monastery and ride up to Kalopoula through the trails. Behind Kalopoula find a singletrack descending towards the base of the mountain. Meet up with fireroad and ascend to the old Turkish tower on a technical bit of singletrack. Continue on trail to the top of the mountain. Depending on time and fitness, one could ride all the way around the mountain to the airport and back (70 km) or descend from the top using a different set of trails. Other recommended trails in the same area: Parnitha, Varimbobi trails
