If you want a short technical ride follow the trail to the right every chance you get. It is a pretty short ride unless you turn arround at the end and take all the left branches. When you get to the fire rode there is a trail accross the rode that can be difficult to find. Follow that trail to the fire rode and you can go down the stairs to town. If you follow the priority rode through four lights then go right you will find a fire rode to the castle. It is all up to you from there. you can ride all day if you like. TchooB

Summary:
Good trail for beginners and weekend warriors. The below Reviews state lots of technical spots, however, I can only name maybe one or two technical spots including "the log" and the stairs after "the tower". This trail if very enjoyable and if you have time to venture off, bring a pen and some paper, you could get lost and end up near Vogelweh.

Recommended Route:
Start at the fire road after Gate 3 and follow the road until you meet up at the ER entrance gate. Follow dirt road to Bismarck Tower (Hitler's Tower). Take a breather and catch the view from the top of the tower. Go down stairs behind tower and follow trails going West. The end of the trail will end up near Gate 2.

Summary:
There are so many fun things about this ride. It's close and challening. There a several 2ft drops if you look hard enough. Plenty of technical chutes and climbs over near the Hospital and in Kindsbach. You can climb the hill and descend as many times as your lungs will permit. If you don't have a ride or much time it's a good local place to ride. On weekends and nice days there are an abundance of hikers. By courteous.

Recommended Route:
Meet at the Emergency Room Parking lot @ Wed's @ 1500 for a ride during day light hours. It's the best way to learn the trails. There are so many variations it's stifling.

Hohnecken to Dansenberg to K-town Pfalzerwald

Summary:
I first rode these beautiful trails in the Summer of 92' while stationed at Ramstein AB. Chris Burke, Mark and Alex were all regular riders as we trained for the US Forces races. This trail is as beautiful as it is fast. Where it isn't hard packed it's rocky and challenging, especially aroud the back of the hill near the cliffs. I have riden in the snow, sort of risky on the rocks. A fun Night ride only after careful daytime observation. Every time I am TDY to Ramstein I bring a bike and this is one of the "Have to Do" rides on my list.

Recommended Route:
Start at Kindsbach Lake, up to Berg Nanstein and follow the ridgeline trail arond to the sandstone cliffs.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Vogelweh(old race course)

Summary:
The guy who wrote the review above was a little off in his directions. You don't want to take every right turn or you will be to the bottom in about 5 minutes. Rather take every LEFT you come to.

Recommended Route:
same as above
