Wascana Trails

Average Rating:    (4.11 of 5)

Many hard pack trails that all connect. It is located in a valley so you have climbs along the valley walls. Trails for all skills. Lacking any serious techniqual. Shared with hikers so watch out.

Summary:
I love this place. It's for all levels of mountain bikers and the best place to bike around Regina especially with all the new trails. It use to be just biking on hiking trails but now there is berms, pump sections, and even a few small jumps.

Don't leave valuables in your vehicle!

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Buffalo Pound. More trails than Wascana Trails but a 45 min drive from Regina.

Summary:
A lot has changed since we had IMBA's Trail Care Crew come for a couple visits. There is now a network of fast, flowing trails! The faster you go, the more challenging the trails are. In addition, there is now an easy, winding route into the trails from the parking lot that makes the trails truly multi-use (mountain biking, trail-running, hikers & parents with off-road strollers). If you haven't been to Wascana Trails in awhile, come and check it out!

Summary:
Spent a good few hours exloring here while I was in town, and was pleasantly surprised. Nothing overly technical, as others have mentioned, but there are a few spots that will keep you on your toes. The switchback-y downhill on the other side of the parking lot is a blast, as are a few other spots on the other side of the river. I think there are enough quality trails here to make a fantastic XC course for the Canada Games next year.

Recommended Route:
as above

Summary:
I rode Wascana on the August 30/03 weekend. If you stay on the main side of the river, the same as the parking lot, you are wasting your time. You need to cross the river, yes you will get wet. The trails here are over grown and are in need of grooming. Some of the trails such as Six Pack have been washed away. There are some good trails here. I feel that once it is cleaned up there will be some good runs to ride, even if you are looking for some good techincal runs. If the trails get cleaned up the rating could be a 5
